Markets and farmers' markets

Markets and farmers' markets

Garafía apples taste like apples. Prunes of Puntagorda taste like plums. The Fuencaliente grapes taste like grapes. And the carrots of Puntallana, to carrots. It is really incredible. And yet, true. Come and see for yourself.

The "recovas" (popular name of the markets on the island) of Santa Cruz de La Palma and Los Llanos de Aridane will dazzle you with the color and variety of its fruits and vegetables, as well as the quality of its cheeses and meats. They are open from Monday to Saturday from 7 am to 2 pm.

In addition, you will also find farmers’ markets, where local growers sell their produce direct. They are found in Puntallana (third Saturday of the month), Barlovento (Sundays), Puntagorda (Saturdays and Sundays), El Paso (Fridays and Saturdays), Los Llanos de Aridane (Sundays), Villa de Mazo (Saturdays and Sundays), and Breña Alta (Saturdays). They are, without doubt, a good place to buy fresh, locally-grown avocados, bananas, cabbages, sweet potatoes, potatoes, tomatoes …
