Visitlapalma

Many restaurants on the island serve traditional dishes such as sopa de picadillo (chicken soup), carne de cochino con papas arrugadas y mojo (grilled pork with wrinkly jacket potatoes and bell pepper sauce), chicharrones (pork scratchings) or queso asado con mojo (grilled cheese) as starters or fish. Plus cheese, desserts (Bienmesabe, Príncipe Alberto, almendrados, rapaduras) or wines labelled with the Denomination of Origin such as Malvasía, Albillo, vinos de tea. These come from wineries which you can visit yourself, to buy excelent vintages. And do not miss the markets and farmers’ markets on the island to buy the delicious bananas, avocados, potatoes … all cultivated on the island.
