Fruit

Although a long way behind the king banana, La Palma’s larder abounds in tropical and sub-tropical fruits.

Creamy avocados, tangy mangoes, succulent papayas, vitamin-rich guavas…Products from the Garden of Eden, almost paradisiacal, which, straight from the tree, are full of colour, perfume and flavour.

The banana is not the only fruit grown on the island. There are also others which delight the eye and the taste buds of visitors and locals alike: oranges, lemons, loquats, figs, prickly pears, avocados, mangoes, mandarin oranges, pears, apples, and cherries, among others.

They all await you at the town markets and farmers’ markets.
