The PR LP 13, graded moderate-hard, leads into the centre of the National Park and enables it to be partially visited, until finally leaving via its natural exit, the Angustias Ravine. It starts from Los Llanos de Aridane and returns to the same town, over a distance of about 28 kilometres and with a duration of approximately 9 hours and a half. The outline of the path can be consulted on the web www.senderosdelapalma.com. However, the section which is most often walked is from Mirador de Los Brecitos to the parking area at La Viña. In this case, you drive down into the bottom of the Barranco de las Angustias at La Viña and park your car there. Taxis can be hired (advance booking recommended) which take you to Mirador de los Brecitos, the starting point. Taxis can also be taken from Los Llanos and your car left there. However, in this case, bear in mind that there will still be an uphill section back to town after finishing at La Viña parking area. If you start hiking at Los Brecitos, it will take an hour and a half to reach the heart of the Park, where the camping area is found. There’s the chance for a quick dip in the freezing waters of the stream before continuing on your way down the Barranco de las Angustias for another four hours. Finally, you return to your car at La Viña parking area, or continue the hike to Los Llanos de Aridane.
