The rugged and abrupt terrain of the island also manifests itself in its coastline of defiant cliffs, populated by caves like Cueva Bonita in Tijarafe which offer an unrivalled spectacle. The cliffs are interrupted by small coves of black sand or improvised natural swimming pools that time has carved capriciously among the rocks. Traditional and historical features would be the mooring points, or "porís" like the ones at Tijarfe, Puntagorda or Santo Domingo de Garafía, that at one time were the only connection link between the outside world and the municipalities where they lie. All a feast for your eyes.
