Discover the historical footprint of an essential food for the canarian people: gofio.
The Gofio Museum “ MIGO”, located in the old wind mill of Las Tricias, offers the possibility of visiting the original gristmill structure and machinery which was running until 1954.
On our visit to the museum, we will receive firsthand information about what is the gofio, it´s elaboration process from the field to the table, the importance of this precious and nutritious food throughout the history of the inhabitants of The Canary Islands, as well as its multiple uses in local gastronomy, with the help of information panels, ethnographic elements, graphic, audiovisual and sensorial resources and even the live demonstration of the grain milling process.
Visitors can also buy this typical and nutritious food, and other local crafts.
